What is acne

Acne is a condition where the hair follicles on the skin become plugged with oil and dead skin. Basically it happens when the pores are clogged or infected. The types of various acne depend on the severity of the condition. Acne and pimple are pretty much the same it is the gland which produces the oil on the face which has gotten over clogged or inflamed with the cells that have actually trying to protect your skin. Once it gets more infected it becomes a full blown infected acne. There are various types, causes and remedies. 

Types of Acne 

1. Whiteheads - It's a condition where the cells get clogged with sebum, dead skin and debris. One of the mild form of acne. Small, round, bumps of acne. Also known as closed comedo. 

2. Blackhead - It is also known as the open comedo. It is a clogged pore/white head which gets opened and plugged with debris, dirt and gets oxidised as it is open. 

3. Pimples/acne - Tender red bumps. 

4. Pustules - Bumps which contain pus due to increased infection. 

5. Cysts - They are severe form of acne, deep pimples or boils. 

Causes of Acne 

1. Food - Fried, greasy food, too much of sugar content, etc. 

2. Hormones - Teenage, menopause and other hormonal imbalances cause acne. 

3. Excessive oil production 

4. Dirt - hair follicles clogged due to dirt, oil, dead skin. 

5. Bacteria 

6. Stress 

7. Heredity 

8. Cosmetics - If you don't clean your makeup brushes or if you don't remove the makeup it can cause acne too.

Proper Sleep and diet - Eat healthy. What you eat is what appears on your face. Drink plenty on water. Have a good sleep.

Cleanse your face at least 3 times a day.
